As the industry focus has been shifting from SOA to Cloud Computing, it becomes clear that we should leverage what we have accomplished in the SOA endeavor in the last decade.

More importantly we ought to make full of the lessons learned in the SOA work to ensure that we don't repeat the inefficient routes and fall into the pitfalls and overhypes.

A pragmatic approach is to pursue service-oriented cloud computing.
